Meet Frédéric Albert our head of sales and customer relations!

When did you join Yocuda and where is your office based? 

Like many people, I knew little about the deeper benefits of Digital Receipts until I met Yocuda and learnt about the Marketing / CRM functionalities that define this new communication medium. I immediately realised that it represented not only an environmental opportunity, but also a powerful and useful communication tool to enhance the in-store customer experience. So I seized the opportunity to join Yocuda in September 2022 and I now work from their office in Paris alongside our colleagues at Global Blue, which acquired Yocuda in 2021.

What is your job title and what does your role typically involve? 

My role encompasses two positions: head of sales and head of customer relations and I am responsible for developing the markets in France, Belgium and French-speaking Switzerland. I dedicate my time to demonstrating the full relevance of our digital receipt system to retail brands by organising demo sessions, such as those at the Paris Retail Week event and at the Global Blue lounge. Additionally, I support our clients in implementing their digital receipt solution and collaborating with marketing, CRM and IT departments, all of which play an essential role in the onboarding.

Tell us a bit about your background and what you were doing before you joined Yocuda? 

I had the opportunity to co-found a multimedia communications agency from 1998 to 2014 before collaborating with different companies, all of which were interconnected within the retail universe. This journey allowed me to gain a 360° vision of the retail industry, with a particular focus on the shopper experience. The in-store customer experience has always fascinated me.

What is the best thing about working in sales? 

For me, it’s about encountering a variety of individuals and brands and contributing to their own products and customer experiences by offering them a meaningful product. But a critical point for me is the solution I am selling; I can only sell what I truly believe in!

What is your favourite type of retail store to shop in? 

Undoubtedly, I have a soft spot for Parisian department stores due to their captivating architecture, alluring beauty sections and diverse offerings.

What is your favourite app or technology and why? 

For leisure, I enjoy my iPad and iPhone. If I have to pick one favourite app, I’d go with the map function on my phone. As someone who travels frequently, I rely on it daily.

Tell us a story about yourself.

In 2002, during the CES Show in Las Vegas, I found myself dancing at the “Studio 54” nightclub with Bill Gates by my side, attempting to pitch my company to him at the time. At 32 years old, you believe anything is possible. Sadly, Bill didn’t take up the offer, but my associates and I had a good laugh about it. Who knows, perhaps I’ll run into Elon Musk at Paris Retail Week!
